Maisy Gibson hails from NSW’s Hunter region. After undergoing two knee reconstructions, fortune turned in Gibson’s favour in 2014 when she became the first female to play first-grade cricket in Maitland.

She travelled to Sri Lanka as part of the Cricket NSW Female Development squad in 2015. 

Moving to Tasmania from the New South Wales Breakers in 2019, Gibson immediately flourished on the apple isle, winning Tasmania’s Female Tigers Player of the Year in 2020 - taking 10 wickets and averaging 30 with the bat, including an excellent 57* against Victoria.

Unfortunately, Gibson was to injure her ACL later in that year requiring a third reconstruction, but returned to play her first competitive cricket in almost 700 days against Queensland in late 2021.

Gibson turned down a Tasmania contract in 2023 but remained part of the Hurricanes' squad. Several injuries in the Tigers camp saw Gibson return to play a handful of matches at the backend of the 2023-24 WNCL season, and she helped her adopted state in a third consecutive title. 

Gibson returned to the Tigers' contract list in 2024-25, but made a change in WBBL allegiance, signing with the Melbourne Stars for WBBL|10.
