Player Story
Fast bowler Riley Meredith made his List A debut for the Cricket Australia XI against Pakistan in January 2017.
He burst onto the scene for Tasmania early in the 2017-18 season, having been part of the Tigers’ JLT Cup squad and making his first-class debut against Victoria at the MCG in November.
And 16 wickets in BBL|08 cemented Meredith’s spot as one of the country’s most exciting pace up-and-comers.
Athletic and gifted with natural speed, Meredith began to make a name for himself in the 2019-20 summer, when he took five wickets on a flat pitch in a Shield clash against NSW, including the scalp of Steve Smith.
Meredith made both his T20I (in New Zealand) and ODI (in West Indies) debuts in 2021 after another strong season with the Hurricanes.
The quick has represented both Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, and returned to the Australian squad for their white-ball tour of the UK in 2024.
