Player Story
A naturally aggressive batter from a strong cricketing family, Oliver Davies was a mainstay of Australia's middle order at the 2020 Under-19 World Cup.
The boy from Sydney's northern beaches burst onto the scene during KFC BBL|10 10 months later, exploding with a series of eye-catching performances for Sydney Thunder.
The Thunder were so impressed with his maiden campaign, which saw him hit eight sixes in his first two matches, that they signed up the young tyro on a three-year deal.
Davies had a quiet 2021-22 summer but became one of the Big Bash's best in BBL|12, compiled 333 runs for the tournament, the most by any Thunder player.
The right hander's breakout season in the red-ball format came in 2023-24, dominating the Marsh Sheffield Shield with 670 runs in only seven matches.
