Player Story
Mitchell Perry shot to prominence in just his third Sheffield Shield match after a spell that tested, and then dismissed, batting great Steve Smith at the SCG in February, 2021.
The right-arm quick became a regular for Victoria the following season, and would play in both the Vics' losing Shield finals against Western Australia in 2021-22 and 2022-23.
In a sign of how he is rated by the national selectors, Perry played three four-day matches for Australia A in 2023.
Perry is far from a one-dimensional cricketer, he is a capable lower-order batter often deployed as nightwatchman and an athletic fielder with a highlights reel that includes diving catches and sharp run outs.
