Player Story

A former Australia under-19 representative, Jimmy Peirson first made an immediate impression for the Bulls in the 2013-14 Ryobi Cup, scoring consecutive half-centuries in his first two matches.

An accomplished wicketkeeper and solid right-handed batsman capable of playing at the top of the order, Peirson was a standout at the 2011 Australian Under 19 Championships, captaining Queensland to the title and leading the team's run-scoring with 311 runs at 58.

After enduring a long apprenticeship behind Queensland legend Chris Hartley, Peirson finally became a one-day regular for the Bulls in 2016-17, and a regular in the Sheffield Shield the following season.

Recognised as one of the best wicketkeepers in the country. Peirson has built a superb career for Queensland, which includes captaining his state in both formats as well as the Brisbane Heat in the KFC BBL.

Peirson has represented Australia A on four occasions and among those caps was a century in Sri Lanka in 2022.

The keeper was called up to the Australian Test squad as cover for Josh Inglis during the 2023 Ashes series in England.

During the 2023-24 summer, Perison claimed the 250th dismissal of his Shield career and is not far off entering the top 10 most prolific glovemen in the competition's long history.
