Batter
Well known for her hard-hitting and dynamic fielding, Bridget Patterson has become one of the most prolific uncapped batters in the country.
Patterson has been part of the SA squad for over a decade, and grew up on Kangaroo Island and played her childhood cricket against the boys before moving to the mainland and earning her first Scorpions contract ahead of the 2012-13 season.
Two WNCL seasons have been standouts for Patterson – 2018-19 where she made two centuries and finished second in the Player of the Tournament voting and 2020-21 where she won the Andrea McCauley Medal as SA’s best player after making 371 runs at an average of 61.83.
An inaugural Striker, Patterson has been a key member of the squad since the beginning, helping them to back to back titles in WBBL|08 and |09.
One of the most prolific fielders in the competition, Patterson surprised some by taking the wicketkeeping gloves in WBBL|09 but proved a perfect fit for the role, finishing with more dismissals than any other ‘keeper that season.
