Spin allrounder Alisha Bates was signed by the Sydney Sixers for WBBL|05 in 2019, but did not play a match.
In February 2022, she was called-up to the ACT Meteors squad for the start of the 2021–22 WNCL season and made her debut in February 2022 against New South Wales.
She helped the Meteors secure their first win of the 2023-24 season after earning a promotion to No.4 and scoring 66 runs in the chase against New South Wales. It was her first fifty in the competition and earned her the player of the match honours.
Bates also represented the Meteors in the inaugural T20 Spring Challenge in 2024.
