Kim Garth holds a unique claim to fame, as the only woman to have played international cricket for both Ireland and Australia.

Born in Dublin to parents who both played cricket for Ireland, Garth made her debut when she was just 14 years old and featured in three World Cups for Ireland before making a call in 2020 that would change her life.

Having had a taste of life in Australia through stints in the WBBL - where she played for Sydney Sixers as an associate rookie before earning full contracts with Perth Scorchers and later, Melbourne Stars - Garth decided to walk away from Ireland and instead pursue the chance to be a full-time cricketer via a Victorian contract.

She became an Australian permanent resident in 2022, allowing her the chance to play in the WBBL as a local, and later the same year became eligible to play for Australia.

National selectors jumped at the chance to pick the right-arm pace bowler, including her in their T20 squad to tour India in December 2022, where she debuted in the opening game.

Her first Australian one-day call-up shortly followed for the January 2023 home series against Pakistan, and she made her Test debut against England five months later.
