Wicket Keeper
A very talented youngster, Jake Doran became a regular in Australia’s Under-19s teams after making his first appearance as a 16-year-old in 2013.
Hailing from Blacktown, Doran would make his KFC Big Bash league debut during the Sydney Derby for Mike Hussey’s Thunder in January 2015.
However, Doran would relocate to Tasmania to take up a full-time contract with the Tigers in order to progress his domestic career.
Still only 18 years old, Doran began his Sheffield Shield career against Western Australia and he became a regular of the Tigers’ middle order.
The 21-year-old also became the first ever player to be used as a concussion substitute in a first-class match, replacing Jordan Silk against Victoria at the MCG.
Doran’s sixth season of Shield cricket was the one that clicked for the diminutive leftie, scoring 615 at an average of 43.92 in an impressive 2020-21 campaign.
Doran is also an accomplished wicketkeeper but given Tasmania’s plethora of ‘keepers he has often had to play as a specialist batter.
