Sanjida Islam made her T20I debut against Ireland in August 2012. Her ODI debut came two years later against Pakistan.

She has been a part of Bangladesh's squad for four ICC WT20 World Cups, most recently selected for the 2020 edition.

Islam posted an unbeaten 71 against Thailand in September 2019, marking her maiden half-century in her career.
