Nivethan Radhakrishnan had the experience of a lifetime in 2021 when he went to the Indian Premier League as a net bowler with the Delhi Capitals, who had been keeping close tabs on the ambidextrous spin bowler for a number of years.

The Chennai-born Radhakrishnan was five or six years old when his father first encouraged him to try bowling with his left arm and he has since developed the ability to bowl both right-arm off-spin and left-arm orthodox.

Having worked tirelessly on his craft in the NSW pathway and in extensive training sessions with his father Radha and brother Nikethan at Homebush's Airey Park, Radhakrishnan has flourished into a promising allrounder who is capable of opening the batting and bowling effectively with both hands.

Both NSW and Tasmania offered him rookie contracts for the 2021-22 summer and the talented teenager decided to make the move to Hobart in June 2021.

A former Australia Under-16 representative who idolises Sir Garfield Sobers, Radhakrishnan was initially viewed as a batting allrounder by the Tigers but he remains eager to show he can be the kind of multi-skilled cricketer rarely seen at the elite level.
