Angela Reakes learned her trade in a net built by her father on their property in Knockrow, located on the NSW North Coast near Byron Bay.
A talented junior, she skippered NSW at the under-15, under-17 and under-18 levels.
In 2008 she was selected to represent a NSW XI against India, flying down to Sydney for the weekend in-between HSC exams in order to play the match.
The leg-spinner moved to Sydney the following year and immediately earned a place in the NSW Breakers squad, making her WNCL debut at the start of the 2009-10 summer.
A proven strike bowler, Reakes has worked extremely hard to improve her game and has received coaching from former Australian leg-spinners Stuart MacGill and Olivia Magno.
She has already represented the Australian Youth team and is keen to add an appearance for the Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars to her resume in the not too distant future.
In the hopes of progressing towards that goal, Reakes moved from NSW to the ACT Meteors for the 2015-16 WNCL season. Her main goal for the upcoming season is to move higher up the order to became an established allrounder.
