Powerful opener Lizelle Lee had shown early signs of her big hitting ability early on in her domestic career, once smashing an unbeaten 169 off 84 balls in a provincial T20 game.

She was only 21 when she made her international debut in a T20I against Bangladesh in September 2013, followed by her ODI debut in the same series.

Picked for the 2014 ICC Women's World Twenty20, Lee started excellently, posting 67 not out against Pakistan, soon followed by 43 against Ireland.

She was a mainstay of the Proteas team until her sudden retirement in 2022, just weeks out from the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

After walking away from international cricket, Lee made Tasmania her home, signing a state WNCL contract.  

In the WBBL Lee has been a prolific player since her first season with the Stars in 2017-18. After three seasons in green she moved to the Renegades, before making the move to Hobart a year later in 2022.  

In 2024, she became the first woman to hit back-to-back centuries in the WBBL.
