A very tall bowling allrounder from New South Wales, Lawrence Neil-Smith made four appearance for Tasmania in his maiden campaign of 2019-20.

Neil-Smith made an outrageous start to the 2021-22 Shield season, taking a five-wicket haul, scoring a half-century and being substituted out with concussion, all inside six days of play.

Neil-Smith played the first six matches of Tasmania’s 2023-24 season, where the would finish runners up to WA, which included a career-best 7-58 against NSW. However, injuries prevented him from playing after the Christmas break.
