Phoebe Litchfield was earmarked as a future Australian player early in her teenage years, and she first caught the eyes of fans when one of her net sessions with New South Wales went viral in 2019.

That same year she debuted for Sydney Thunder aged 16, becoming the youngest player to score a WBBL half-century in just her second match.

Her graduation from high school was quickly followed by her first Australia A outing against England, and her first preseason as a full-time cricketer quickly reaped rewards as Litchfield hit her first WNCL century for NSW in October 2022, and followed that with her best season to date for Sydney Thunder.

The left-hander was called into her first Australia T20I squad for the December 2022 tour of India, making her debut in the second match of the series, before being promoted to opener in place of an injured Alyssa Healy for the final game of the series.

Her first ODI call-up promptly followed for the 2023 home series against Pakistan, and she made her Test debut against England at Trent Bridge in June the same year.

Litchfield hit her first ODI century against Ireland a month later and her standout first 12 months of international cricket was rewarded when she was named the ICC's Emerging Cricketer of the Year for 2023.
