Born in the UK but raised in Perth, Aaron Hardie first hit headlines in November 2017 when he took the scalp of Joe Root in a tour match.

He captained WA to the Under-19 national title and starred for Australia's Under-19 side against Pakistan that summer. His performances earned him a rookie deal with WA and the Perth Scorchers for 2018-19, hitting the headlines again by showing he's got a knack for big wickets by removing Virat Kohli with a brilliant caught-and-bowled in another tour match.

In the shadow of fellow WA allrounder Cameron Green, a childhood friend who is actually five months younger, Hardie is carving his own share of the spotlight, with a career best 174no in WA's drought-breaking Sheffield Shield victory in 2021-22 to cap a breakout summer.

Added to the Australia A squad for a the tour of Sri Lanka in mid-2022, he struck three fifties across formats, putting him in the conversation for national selection.

Hardie's first taste of international cricket came in September 2023, when he debuted in both the ODI and T20I formats during Australia's trip to South Africa.
