Wicketkeeper-batsman Afsar Zazai was just 16 when he was included in the Afghanistan squad for the 2010 ICC Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand.
He represented his country at a second Under-19 World Cup in 2012, this time in Australia, and the 21-year-old will be familiar with the local conditions when he heads to the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup.
Long seen as a senior prospect for his country, Zazai was impressive in his first-class debut 2012 when he scored an unbeaten 84 in an upset win over Netherlands.
His first one-day international cap followed in November 2014 against United Arab Emirates, and again Zazai produced an excellent performance first-up. He scored 60, took one catch and pulled off a stumping, following up with 51 in his second ODI.
