Player Story

Allrounder Jemma Barsby is an incredibly gifted cricketer who can bowl right or left-handed.

A Championship player with the Brisbane Heat in WBBL|04, Barsby became a Striker in WBBL|07 following two seasons in the west with Perth.

She made an immediate impact in her first season in blue, boasting the second-best bowling economy amongst her teammates and was one of only four Strikers to deliver a maiden over through her nine matches of WBBL|07.

A leader and inspiration to teammates on and off the pitch, Jemma was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis as a 19-year-old and continues to serve as an ambassador for several charities as a fine role model for many aspiring athletes.

She is also the daughter of former Queensland batsman and coach Trevor Barsby and made her Women’s National Cricket League debut for Queensland in the 2010-11 season at the age of 15. 

These days, she plays her state cricket for South Australia.
