A stand-out performer for India in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, Gautam Gambhir scored a match-winning 97 in the final.
After making his one-day international debut in 2003 Gambhir played 19 one-day internationals before being dropped for the 2007 World Cup.
He bounced back into the national side later the same year, however, and played his most consistent cricket between then and the 2011 World Cup, including his top score of 150 not out in 2009.
His Test career followed a similar trajectory before Gambhir fell out of favour with selectors after the 2013 one-day series against India.
Gambhir played his last Test in 2016, making nine centuries and averaging just shy of 42.
