Another of Queensland’s seemingly endless supply of right-arm fast bowlers, Steketee is a former Australia under-19 representative.  

Steketee made his debut for Brisbane Heat in the 2013-14 Big Bash League before he played for the National Performance Squad in the quadrangular one-day tournament in the winter of 2014. 

His first-class debut followed shortly after in 2015 and impressed with seven wickets (3-56 and 4-33) against Tasmania as the Bulls powered to an emphatic victory.

The paceman hit his straps during the 2018-19 Shield season, taking 42 wickets at 20.76.

His growing reputation on the domestic scene saw him earn a cap with Australia A and shortly after he found himself on the cusp of Australian selection, named in the Test squad to tour South Africa in 2021 (which was cancelled due to Covid) and then as Michael Neser’s injury replacement for the historic tour to Pakistan in 2022.

Over the years he has formed a devastating new-ball partnership with Michael Neser and no season was it more apparent than during the 2022-23 Shield, where the pair combined for 78 wickets.

The tall quick’s incredible consistency with the red ball has seen him enter the top 10 wicket-takers for Queensland in the history of the Sheffield Shield competition.
