Jasprit Bumrah is on all levels a unique bowler. With a lackadaisical approach to the wicket, sometimes off no more than six paces, Bumrah is renowned as one of the most lethal fast bowlers across formats. 

Bumrah emerged in Australia in 2016 as a limited-overs talent making both his ODI and T20I debuts against Australia within the space of four days. 

He was an immediate success, and after years of great results with Mumbai Indians in the IPL, the longest format beckoned for Bumrah.

After Steve Smith (ODI) and David Warner (T20) were his first wickets in white-ball internationals, he claimed the scalp of AB de Villiers for his first Test wicket in January 2018 and took another 47 more wickets in the year to come.

He followed that up with a memorable 2018-19 summer against Australia, taking career-best figures of 6-33 in the Boxing Day Test as India won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on Aussie soil.

He became the first bowler from an Asian nation to take five-wicket hauls in Australia, England and South Africa in the same year.

In 2022 Bumrah captained India in the fifth Test against England, finishing that campaign as player of the series with 23 wickets.

The unorthodox bowler was massive during India’s 2023 ODI World Cup run and 2024 T20 World Cup success, named player of the series in the latter for his 15 wickets at 8.26 and 2-18 in the final.
