The squads:
Sydney Sixers: Ellyse Perry (C), Sarah Aley, Erin Burns, Sarah Coyte, Ashleigh Gardner, Kim Garth, Alyssa Healy (WK), Jodie Hicks, Amy Jones, Emily Leys, Sara McGlashan, Angela Reakes, Lauren Smith

The last time they met: The Scorchers have taken the honours in both clashes between the teams this season, and prevailed by six wickets with seven balls to spare in their most recent encounter. Chasing 138, openers Elyse Villani and Nicole Bolton put on a brilliant 103-run partnership to put the Scorchers in the box seat. It was Ashleigh Gardner's first game back from concussion, while Katherine Brunt missed the clash with a back injury.
The back stories:
Sydney Sixers are undoubtedly the powerhouse side of the WBBL. They've earned a spot in all three finals to date, and are the reigning champions for a reason. Even with key contributors Dane van Niekerk and Marizanne Kapp returning for national team duties with South Africa, the Sixers haven't skipped a beat, seamlessly covering the loss with a couple of big performances from new recruit Sarah Coyte, while the already excellent Sarah Aley took her game to another level in the semi-final against Adelaide.
The Scorchers have known more than their fair share of finals heartbreak, losing their semi-final in the first season of the WBBL by just one run, and going down to the Sixers by just seven runs in last year's decider. Their spot in the top four was on the line up until the second last game on the last day of the regular season, but they proved they belong in finals with a brilliant win over Sydney Thunder in their semi-final.
The road to finals (most recent last):
Sydney Sixers: WWLWWLWLLWWWWWW
Perth Scorchers: WWLWLWLWLLWWLWW
The players to watch:Sarah Aley: The Sixers' spearhead was player of the match in last year's decider, claiming 4-23 against the Scorchers, and again delivered on the finals stage on Friday, snaring 4-18 against the Strikers. Incredibly, she boasted the figures of 4-1 after her first two overs, and was a huge factor in the Strikers' 6-3 collapse.
Ashleigh Gardner: She started the season with a brilliant century, and was back to her best in the semi-final. Concussion concerns waylaid her season to a degree, but Gardner belted 72 off just 45 deliveries in a commanding displaying against the Strikers.
Katherine Brunt: Brunt will be a huge inclusion for the Scorchers this time around, having missed the previous clash with a back complaint, but took 2-19 in their previous encounter. She is always a fierce proposition to face and will be looking to get the Scorchers' bowling innings off to a strong start.
Nicole Bolton: The batter and part-time bowler has been a key cog for the Scorchers this season, and again produced when it mattered in the semi-final against Sydney Thunder, earning player of the match honours. She was pivotal in the Scorchers' win last time they took on the Sixers, making 42 and taking 2-15.
Overall head to head: Sixers 4, Scorchers 3
Big Bash titles: Sixers 1, Scorchers 0
