Star allrounder Mitchell Marsh has shaken off an injury scare to star with bat and ball as Perth Scorchers ended their Oppo Champions League Twenty20 campaign with a win over Lahore Lions.

Marsh picked up 2-12 with the ball before combining with veteran Brad Hogg for a match-winning partnership that ended Lahore's chances of progressing to the semi-finals.

The Pakistan team needed a big win over the reigning KFC Twenty20 Big Bash League champions to jump ahead of Chennai Super Kings and into the last four.

Having been held to just 124 after being sent into bat, the Lions had to restrict the Scorchers to 78 or less to improve their Net Run Rate enough to move into second place in Group A.

But they gave themselves a chance of victory when they reduced the Scorchers 6-40 before Marsh and Hogg combined for a quickfire 58-run partnership to secure the win by three wickets.

The Scorchers had earlier destroyed Lahore's top order, with Joel Paris and Marsh taking two wickets each as the Lions slumped to 4-11.

Marsh then sent a scare through the Scorchers camp when he limped from the field in the seventh over, but he later returned to the action, although he didn't bowl again in the innings.

The Lions had Saad Nasim to thank for posting a competitive total, with the right-hander hitting 69 from 55 balls.

After Perth's top order had crumbled against Lahore's spinners, Marsh found an unlikely ally in veteran Hogg, who two fours and two sixes in his unbeaten innings of 28.

But Marsh was the star, securing the win with consecutive sixes as he finished on 63 from 38 balls.

The semi-final draw is now set, with the Super Kings to face fellow IPL side Kings XI Punjab and Big Bash League runner's up Hobart Hurricanes to face Kolkata Knight Riders.
