Former Australia captain makes 30 in second innings of Sydney grade return

Michael Clarke's cricket comeback continued on Sunday, with the former Australia captain managing to get among the runs again for Western Suburbs in their grade cricket match in Sydney.

Clarke scored 48 in the first innings of Western Suburbs clash against Randwick-Petersham in Sydney on Saturday and was given another chance to shine on Sunday during the second innings.

A more attacking Clarke showed his Twenty20 prowess with an entertaining 30 as an opener, hitting five boundaries and a huge six in his quickfire 17-ball innings.

It meant Clarke scored a total of 78 runs from his two knocks over the weekend, as Western Suburbs registered a 40-run victory on the first innings.

It is unknown whether Clarke will continue his cricket comeback, or if his appearance for Western Suburbs was just a one-off.

"Who knows? I need a couple of days," Clarke said following play on Saturday.

"The boys have already told me the club is playing Northern Districts next week and they're here again, but it's one game at a time."

"Let me play this game and I will assess then."
