Queensland lose eight wickets on another rain-shortened day, with draw still looking likely
Match Report:
ScorecardWarriors rock the Bulls at the Gabba
Only a gritty unbeaten half century from Charlie Hemphrey saved JLT Sheffield Shield leaders Queensland from embarrassment against Western Australia on another rain interrupted day at the Gabba.
Amid challenging batting conditions, Hemphrey anchored the innings with 60 not out as the Bulls ended day two at 8-146.
Despite the hosts' shaky position, a draw remains the likely result after the morning session was lost on Wednesday, while only 15 balls were possible on day one.
Regardless of the result Queensland will hold down top spot heading into next week's final round, while WA have to win in order to keep their final hopes alive.
The Queenslanders scored at barely 2.3 runs per over throughout the day but a late slew of wickets gave the Warriors the day's honours.
Marnus Labuschagne (23) was the only batsman other than Hemphrey to pass 20, with the Bulls losing 5-55 to end the day.
WA fast-medium bowler Simon Mackin enjoyed the best figures with 3-32 from 11 overs.
