Cricket Australia Underage National Championships confirmed

Australia’s next generation of elite talent will again be on display this summer with confirmation today of the 2024-25 National Talent Pathway Championships.

The iconic WACA Ground is set to host matches across the opening weekend of the Female U19’s National Championships in Perth, which doubles as the final selection opportunity for players ahead of the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup in Malaysia in January 2025.

Ballarat will host the Under 16 Female National Championship, with this being second consecutive year they have hosted a National Championships, thanks to the support of the City of Ballarat and Ballarat Cricket Association.

Adelaide will host the U19’s Male National Championships, while the Under 17 Male tournament will be played at venues across Launceston, including UTAS Stadium.

The National Championships provide players with the opportunity to represent their states and territories while testing their skills against fellow up-and-coming cricketers.

Final schedules and broadcast details for each National Championship are expected to be confirmed shortly.

Sonya Thompson, Cricket Australia Head of National Development, said:

"The National Championships are an integral part of the Australian Cricket Pathway system, and we’re delighted our players will have the opportunity to represent their states and territories again this season.

"There has been an impressive record of players progressing from our underage championships into elite competitions and we look forward to watching the development of this year's group.

“We thank the State and Territory Associations for their support and collaboration in making the National Championships possible and look forward to working with them to ensure a successful summer of cricket.

“CA is grateful for the support of all host venues and extends further thanks to the City of Ballarat for its ongoing support of our National Championships."
