National Cricket Inclusion Championships return showcasing Australia’s best cricketers with a disability

The National Cricket Inclusion Championships (NCIC) will feature the best Australian cricketers with a disability competing to be crowned national champions.

Established in 2017, the NCIC provides players with an opportunity to play at the highest domestic level.

The five-day tournament will take place in Brisbane from January 20-25.

Twenty two state and territory teams will compete in five divisions - Blind and Low Vision, Women’s Blind and Low Vision Exhibition Matches, Men’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Women’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and Cricketers with an Intellectual Disability.

Victoria will look to extend their two-year winning streak in the Cricketers with Intellectual Disability division and retain their Deaf and Hard of Hearing division title.
New South Wales are the reigning champions in the Blind and Low Vision division, holding the title since 2020.

This year’s NCIC will feature the return of Women’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing teams which were last included in 2020 and it will be the first time the championships will feature Women’s Blind and Low Vision exhibition matches.

Players will also vie for national selection in the Australian disability teams that will tour later in the year.

With valued support from CommBank, Principal Partner of Cricket Australia's A Sport for All program, and Taverners Australia. The NCIC forms part of Australian Cricket’s development pathway, with the aim of having more cricketers with a disability represent Australia at international level.

Cricket Australia General Manager, Events & Operations Joel Morrison said:
“The NCIC is a fantastic event showcasing the greatest Australian cricketers with a disability and we are thrilled to have it on the summer of cricket calendar.”

“The NCIC is part of Australian Cricket’s vision to be a sport for all that makes Australians proud and our ongoing commitment to creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment for everyone in the game.
