Aussies unchanged, Zimbabwe win the toss and bowl

Australia have been sent in by Zimbabwe in the third ODI in Townsville, with the home side unchanged and vowing to be 'ruthless' in pursuit of a series sweep

Australia will be batting first in the final match of the Dettol ODI Series against Zimbabwe with the hosts sticking with the team that delivered a thumping eight-wicket victory in game two on Wednesday.

Zimbabwe captain Regis Chakabva won his first toss of the series and elected to bowl first, prompting a round of applause from the healthy crowd at Riverway Stadium in Townsville.

Aaron Finch announced at the toss the Australians would be unchanged from game two, with Marnus Labuschagne, Sean Abbott and Josh Inglis, who has just arrived from England as Mitch Marsh's replacement, missing out.

The visitors, however, have made two changes, with fast bowler Victor Nyauchi and opening batter Takudzwanashe Kaitano coming into the side for Luke Jongwe and Innocent Kaia, with Chakabva putting the moves down to "team rotation".

Australia won the first match by five wickets with 99 balls remaining and the second by eight wickets with 212 balls remaining and spinner Ashton Agar said they wouldn't be looking to ease up in the third match.

"I don't think we'll tinker around too much with (the batting order)," Agar told reporters on Friday.

"It's a pretty tricky pitch. It's really seaming around a lot (at the start) and it's quite up and down.

"It's a no-brainer on this pitch to get out there and bowl first and try to rock and roll the team as fast as you can and get the job done.

"That's professional cricket, a lot of people want us to bat first, but I think we'll try and be as ruthless as possible."

A series sweep on Saturday will secure the Aussies the full quota of 30 ICC Super League points, which are crucial for direct qualification into the 2023 ODI World Cup in India.
