A shocked Perry claimed the BC Award after seeing teammate Alyssa Healy claim both the T20 and ODI Player of the Year awards for women's cricketers earlier in the night.

Here's how the night unfolded:
9.30pm: A boilover in the Allan Border Medal! David Warner has won the prize by a solitary vote, edging out Steve Smith, while last year's winner Pat Cummins was further back in the field. Warner had an incredible World Cup on his return to the Australian team and was superb in the T20 internationals on home soil as he piled up the runs against the white ball. He endured a torrid Ashes campaign in mid-2019, but was a force in Test cricket in the home summer as he torched attacks from Pakistan and New Zealand, including an Adelaide triple century, which was enough to push him over the line.
9.20pm: Well, this might be counted as something of a surprise. After Alyssa Healy claimed both the T20 and ODI Player of the Year awards, Ellyse Perry has been crowned with the Belinda Clark Award. It's the third time Perry has claimed the prize – coincidentally all of them coming after Ashes series in which Perry dominates, and her efforts in the one-off Test match last winter was enough to push her past Healy to claim women's cricket's top individual honour.
9.15pm: It's yet another award for Alyssa Healy! The Australia star has claimed the Female T20 Player of the Year prize to go with her earlier win as the ODI Player of the Year.

9pm: David Warner has won the Male T20 Player of the Year award. From the 'hard to believe but true' files, this from Andrew Ramsey: Despite his renown as a top-order slugger and having earned plaudits for his runs-scoring and leadership in the annual Indian Premier League competition, Warner had not previously won the nation's preeminent T20 prize that was first presented in 2011.
8.30pm: The top players from domestic cricket have been named. Victoria and Melbourne Renegades spinner Molly Strano has been recognised for her outstanding WNCL and WBBL form as the Female Domestic Player of the Year. And the evergreen Western Australian veteran Shaun Marsh who's outstanding year was highlighted by a match-winning ton in the Marsh One-Day Cup final but he's dominated with the bat across all formats as only SOS can.
8pm: Marnus Labuschagne has crowned his unbelievable year by being named the Test Player of the Year ahead of Steve Smith and Pat Cummins. Labuschagne was a fringe player at the start of 2019, and made his memorable introduction to Test Cricket as Smith's concussion substitute. He ended the summer as Australia's top run scorer and a lock at No.3, having piled up century after century, including a maiden double. Incredible.
7.45pm: A couple of rising stars of the game have been honoured with Australian, Victoria and Hobart fast bowler Tayla Vlaeminck named as the 2020 Betty Wilson Young Cricketer of the Year, while South Australia and Adelaide Strikers quick Wes Agar was named the Bradman Young Cricketer of the year.
7.30pm: The first award – the Men's ODI Player of the Year – has been presented to Aaron Finch. Australia's ODI captain led the team to the semi-finals of the World Cup and was the nation's top scorer in the voting period.
The Female ODI Player of the Year is Alyssa Healy – who wins the award for the second successive year after a cleans sweep of all categories last year. Could the wicketkeeper-batter be on for another big night of silverware?
6pm: With the red carpet procession complete there's a lull in public proceedings for the moment as the players mingle at Crown's Palladium and enjoy the sponsor's product. Marcus Stoinis and Adam Zampa set tongues wagging with their painted fingernails, and the Australia leg-spinner explains below just why. The telecast of tonight's event will start at 7pm on 7Mate, Fox Cricket and Kayo Sports. In the meantime, why not check out the full gallery from the red carpet here.
