When, where and how to watch

The Women’s National Cricket League final will see New South Wales take on Queensland at North Sydney Oval from 10am AEDT on Saturday, February 9.

The NSW Breakers have won the 50-over domestic WNCL title an incredible 19 times from 22 seasons since the competition was formed, while the Fire are out to win their maiden title.

Fans following online will be able to stream the match via cricket.com.au while live scores and video replays will also be available on cricket.com.au and the Cricket Australia Live app.

For anyone wishing to attend the game, the great news is entry is FREE and the gates at North Sydney Oval will open at 9am ahead of the first ball at 10am.

Key players

Ellyse Perry (NSW)

Perry will be determined to finish her time with the NSW Breakers on a winning note, having committed to moving to Victoria next season. She was peerless with the bat through the WBBL and has also been in excellent form with the ball.

Alyssa Healy (NSW)

The NSW skipper has enjoyed an excellent four matches with the bat this domestic 50-over season, scoring 203 runs at 50.75, including two half-centuries. A big game player, the Breakers ‘keeper won’t want to let another title slip by after finding herself on the wrong side of the WBBL final.

Rene Farrell (NSW)

The former Australian pace bowler has had an outstanding WNCL season, sitting atop the wickets table with 15 at 10.66, and an economy rate of 3.47. An experienced competitor, Farrell will be key to helping restrict the Queensland batters.

Beth Mooney (QLD)

Mooney finished the WBBL season in red-hot form after scoring a century in the final regular season match before producing a gritty player-of-the-match knock to lead the Heat to victory over the Sixers in the final. Queensland’s hopes of winning a maiden title will receive a big boost if the Australian batter can go big again.

Jemma Barsby (QLD)

The spinner sits fourth on the overall wickets table for the season with 10 scalps at 17.80 and her best performance to date came as her team sought a spot in the final, when she captured a stunning 4-11 against Western Australia.

Jess Jonassen (QLD) 

Jonassen missed Queensland’s first two matches due to injury and their next two while she was away with Australia’s World T20 squad in the Caribbean. But the experienced left-arm spinner made a stunning return last weekend with finals on the line, collecting five wickets at 5.20, with an economy rate of 1.20, across two matches.

Head-to-head this season

Queensland claimed a thrilling one-wicket upset win over the Breakers in the first match of the season on September 21. Rolled for 149 batting first, NSW looked on track to defend that total with ease when a rampant Rene Farrell had Queensland in all sorts at 6-18. But a remarkable fightback from Sammy-Jo Johnson (67) and Josie Dooley (52no) was enough to see the Fire edge home.
