Henriques blasts rapid ton to fire Blues

In-form allrounder Moises Henriques helped NSW gain the upper hand in the Marsh Sheffield Shield top-of-the-table clash at the SCG on Sunday.

Henriques scored 116 as the Blues reached 5-262, a lead of 22 at stumps on day two.

The 32-year-old, who has represented Australia in all three formats, passed 5000 first-class runs.

It was Henriques' tenth first-class ton and his second of the season in which he has scored 453 runs at 69.47.

Right-handed Henriques, who needed 75 at the start of his innings to attain his latest milestone, struck 11 fours and a six in his 158 ball innings.

Coming in at 2-15, after both openers were caught behind, Henriques dominated a third-wicket stand of 133 with Daniel Solway, who made 33 off 125 balls without hitting a boundary.

Henriques added 46 with Matt Gilkes (27) before both men were out with with the score at 194.

NSW were still 46 short of the Bulls first innings score at that stage, but an unbroken sixth-wicket stand of 68 between Blues captain Peter Nevill (27) and Sean Abbott (40) pushed them ahead of the visitors' total.

Four Bulls bowlers each took one wicket wicket and while Test aspirant and paceman Michael Neser wasn't one of them, he conceded just 40 runs off his 20 overs,
