By the numbers: Runs and records in Adelaide

14 – Consecutive Tests Australia have won against Pakistan at home, their last loss coming in a dead-rubber match in Sydney in 1995. In the 24 years since then Australia have clean-swept Pakistan 3-0 four times and now beaten them 2-0.

70.27 – Australia's win percentage in home Tests against Pakistan, their second-best against a nation that has toured more than once to these shores. Australia have won 26 Tests against Pakistan and lost only four, with seven draws. Their best win percentage at home is against Sri Lanka: 13 wins, two draws and no losses.

87.84 – Australia's overall batting average in the two Tests, their third highest in a series. The only two occasions when their batsmen averaged more in a series was 112.36 against Sri Lanka in 2007-08 and 119.66 against West Indies in 2015-16. Pakistan bowlers could take only 13 wickets in the series as they conceded 3-589 in Adelaide and 10-580 in Brisbane. Australia won by an innings on both occasions.

489 – Runs scored by David Warner in two innings against Pakistan, the second-highest tally for an Australian in a two-Test series and only behind Matthew Hayden's 501 against Zimbabwe in 2003.

829 – Runs scored by Marnus Labuschagne this year, the most for any batsman in 2019. The Australian also has the most runs (2428) for any batsman in first-class cricket in 2019.

51 – Wickets taken by Pat Cummins this year, the most by any bowler in 2019. It is first time in his career he has taken 50 Test wickets in a calendar year.

50 – Wickets taken by Nathan Lyon at Adelaide Oval, only the second bowler after Shane Warne (56) to complete a half-century of Test wickets at the iconic venue. Lyon reached 50 wickets with his first five-wicket haul against Pakistan and 16th in Tests.

20.00 – Steve Smith's batting average across two Tests, the lowest in a series for him. With plenty of runs coming from the top order, Smith played with abandon on both occasions and scored four and 36. It was also the first time in his Test career he didn't score a 50 in a series.

8 – Years since Australia have won back-to-back Tests by an innings margin. Australia won the first Test by an innings-and-five-runs in Brisbane and second by an innings-and-48-runs in Adelaide. The last time it happened for them was in 2012 when they beat India by an innings-and-six-runs in Sydney and an innings-and-37-runs in Perth.

6 – Consecutive Tests Pakistan have lost, their joint-worst losing streak in Tests. Before losing two Tests in Australia, they lost three to South Africa and one to New Zealand in the last season. The previous occasion when they lost six in a row was in the 2016-17 season when they lost one to West Indies, two to New Zealand and three to Australia.

6 – also the number of times Josh Hazlewood has dismissed Babar Azam in five Tests. The Australian seamer dismissed the brilliant Pakistani on four occasions in the 2016-17 home series and got the better of him twice in this series.

4 – Pakistan batsmen who scored their maiden first-class century in a Test match. Yasir Shah's 113 in Adelaide was his first century in both first-class and Test cricket. The previous three Pakistan batsmen to do so were Saqlain Mushtaq (101 not out) against New Zealand in 2001, Azhar Mahmood (128 not out) against South Africa in 1997 and Nasim-ul-Ghani (101) against England at Lord's in 1962. Surprisingly, Yasir with 194 across two Tests was also Pakistan's second-best batsman in the series after Babar (210 runs).

1 – Occasions a team has played a Test series with three teenage fast bowlers. Pakistan became the only team in history to do so as they played the series with two 19-year-old quicks – Mohammad Musa Khan and Shaheen Shah Afridi – and 16-year-old Naseem Shah.

0 – Innings batted, balls bowled or catches taken by Travis Head in the second Test in Adelaide. The last time an Australian player didn't bat, bowl or catch in a Test was Craig McDermott against England at Lord's in 1993 when he was hospitalised with abdominal pains. Adam Voges, against West Indies in Sydney in 2016, also didn't bat, bowl or catch but that was a drawn match in which two days were lost to rain.
