Hampshire to host Aussies for two matches ahead of first World Cup game against Afghanistan on June 1
World Cup warm-up matches confirmed
Australia are to face England and Sri Lanka in two warm-up matches ahead of the Cricket World Cup.
The defending champions take on the hosts at Southampton on May 25 and then face the 1996 winners at the same venue two days later.
All 10 participating nations will play two official warm-up matches between May 24-28 ahead of the tournament which kicks off on May 30.
The games will be staged at the Bristol County Ground, Cardiff Wales Stadium, the Hampshire Bowl and The Oval and include high-profile clashes such as England v Australia, Pakistan v Afghanistan and Bangladesh v India.
England will play Australia at the Hampshire Bowl and Afghanistan at The Oval.
"It is always a huge milestone announcing an exciting warm-up schedule for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup as it really highlights just how close we are to the action getting underway this summer," said ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2019 managing director Steve Elworthy.
"These games provide another fantastic opportunity for fans to see world-class players at their local venue and allows the tournament to engage local schools and communities with another chance to get involved with the Cricket World Cup."
