The talented allrounder named for international return against Pakistan
Anderson named for Black Caps return
All rounder Corey Anderson will make his long-awaited return to international cricket this month after being added to New Zealand's squad for their Twenty20 series against Pakistan.
Anderson and wicketkeeper/batsman Glenn Phillips are late additions for the three-match series starting in the UAE next week.
It is 16 months since 27-year-old Anderson last wore the Black Cap, having undergone surgery to mend ongoing back problems.
"It's obviously been a long road back and after the surgery there were some long tedious days," said Anderson, who has played 91 games across all formats.
"But this is what the rehab is for and to be picked again is a great feeling."
The big-hitting allrounder experienced no problems during a recent T20 stint with English side Somerset and is captaining New Zealand A in the current one-day series against Pakistan A in Dubai.
Phillips replaces Martin Guptill, who was ruled out with a calf injury.
