Big SCG crowd excites Behrendorff

Another big crowd is expected in Sydney on Sunday evening for the third and final Twenty20 clash between Australia and India

Australia are relishing the prospect of another bumper Twenty20 crowd, even if the majority of fans are supporting the opposition once again.

Australia, holding a 1-0 series lead and chasing their maiden T20 series win over India, square off against Virat Kohli's team in a SCG clash starting at 6.50pm AEDT on Sunday.

Heavy rain affected games in Brisbane and Melbourne, with the latter abandoned following 19 overs of Australia's innings.

But the wet weather failed to keep crowds down.

More than 31,000 fans flocked to the Gabba for the series opener while the MCG attendance on Friday night was 63,439.

Australia draw first blood in T20 series

India's fanatical supporters were the vocal majority in both crowds and another big turn out is expected at the SCG on Sunday evening with rain unlikely to fall.

"It's been quite strange. We've almost played an away series so far," paceman Jason Behrendorff told reporters.

"In Melbourne they asked for a cheer from the Aussie crowd ... then the Indian crowd and the whole stadium erupted.

"It's exciting to have big crowds to play in front of. That's what we love doing, to play in front of another packed house will be great fun."

Rain spares Aussies in second T20

Behrendorff and Aaron Finch were both impressed with just how many fans stayed at the MCG on Friday night despite the cold and wet conditions.

"Freezing and sleety-type conditions, it was amazing how many people came out and supported," Finch said.

"We know how passionate the Indian fans are and there were certainly a lot of them there and in Brisbane. It's great to have big crowds in Australia again

"It's always a great rivalry.

"Winning the series is obviously huge and means a lot to us."

Australia have added superstar Mitchell Starc to their squad following Billy Stanlake's ankle injury.
