Suspended batsman ties the knot with long-time partner in Berrima, south of Sydney
Smith, Willis marry in Southern Highlands
Steve Smith has had a rollercoaster year and the suspended Australia batsman hit another high on Saturday, marrying fiancée Dani Willis at a ceremony in Berrima in the NSW Southern Highlands.
Smith had proposed in June last year at the top of the Rockefeller Centre in New York City, after the pair had been dating for around five years.
State and national teammates Nathan Lyon, Usman Khawaja, Mitch Marsh, Moises Henriques, Pat Cummins and Aaron Finch were all in attendance.
"Today I got to marry my best friend. What an absolutely incredible day. @dani_willis looked unbelievably beautiful," Smith wrote on an Instagram post.
During a challenging period for Smith following the ball-tampering scandal in South Africa, his father Peter praised his now daughter-in-law.
"She has been incredibly supportive and is his complete and absolute rock," Smith Snr told News Ltd.
Smith's Caribbean Premier League campaign was cut short at the start of this month by an abdominal injury, though that is not expected to curtail his Premier Cricket return this coming Saturday, with Sutherland taking on Mosman at Glenn McGrath Oval in Caringbah.
Smith is set to link up with former Australia allrounder and Sydney Thunder captain Shane Watson for the clash.
