Western Australia young gun dominates with bat and ball as Shooting Stars remain unbeaten in Sri Lanka
Graham guides Stars to T20 win
A brilliant all-round effort from Heather Graham has helped the Commonwealth Bank Shooting Stars claim victory against Sri Lanka’s emerging cricketers in their Twenty20 clash in Colombo yesterday.
After losing the toss and being sent in to the field, Australia continued their good form with the ball as Graham (3-16) and Lauren Smith (2-14) combined to remove four of the home side’s top five batters.
Georgia Wareham (1-8) and Maitlan Brown (0-1) were also impressive and combined with three run outs, helped restricted Sri Lanka to 9-99.

Australia made a positive start to the chase, reaching 37 before Mikayla Hinkley was dismissed for 13 by Chandima Gunaratne (2-20).
Tahlia McGrath (33) and Graham (39 not out) then took control and with support from 15-year-old Rachel Trenaman (20), steered the visitors home with eight wickets remaining.
Batting on, Australia finished with 3-107 from 19.3 overs and will be looking to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the second T20 on Saturday.
