Brilliant Bavuma's stunning one-hander

Proteas pocket rocket Temba Bavuma has enhanced his reputation as one of the best fielders on the planet with a stunning one-handed catch on day two of the second Test against Bangladesh.

With the visitors in pursuit of South Africa's mammoth first-innings tally of 4-573 declared, Bavuma dived full length to his right in the gully to remove Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim.

The sensational pluck, handing Duanne Olivier a second wicket, drew breathless praise from the commentators and left his South Africa in awe.

Bavuma's exceptional piece of work reduced Bangladesh to 3-36 and the Tigers went to tea a short time after reeling at 4-61, still 512 runs behind.

The catch comes as little surprise given Bavuma's memorable run out of David Warner at the WACA last summer.

Warner was on 35 in Australia's second innings of the first Test when he was the victim of a remarkable piece of fielding from Bavuma, who swept in from point and picked up and threw while airborne in an acrobatic effort that ultimately caught the batsman inches short of his ground.

The Australia vice-captain, renowned as both quick between the wickets and an exceptional fielder himself, was effusive in his commendation of his opponent.

"What a fantastic run out, that was absolutely superb," Warner told Wide World of Sports.

"I only saw it when I got back into the change room and to throw a ball like that off balance and in mid-air is just phenomenal.

"I was at full stretch and if you slow everything down you probably see that I wasn't at full stretch, but I felt that I that I was.

"I don't think it warranted a dive either, I don't think it would have made a difference."
