The records broken in epic Windies win

Shai Hope and his young Windies side defy the numbers and decades of history to win at Headingley

3 - The number of times a team has been beaten by more than an innings and 200 runs and gone on to win the following Test. The Windies lost the first Test by an innings and 209 runs only to win by five wickets at Headingley. Only India in 2008 (lost to Sri Lanka by an innings and 239 runs) and Australia in 1998 (lost to India by an innings and 219 runs) have bounced back from heavier defeats to win the next Test.

18.61 - Shai Hope's Test batting average from 11 matches before this Test. Having posted scores of 147 and 118no at Headingley, his average is now 29.81.

533 - The number of first-class matches that had been played at Headingley before this Test. Hope is the first man ever to score a century in each innings of a first-class match at the ground.

11 - The number of West Indians to score a century in each innings of a Test before Hope. He joins George Headley and Gordon Greenidge as the only West Indians to achieve the feat in the UK.

17 - The number of years since the Windies last won a Test match in England. They'd lost 15 and drawn three of their past 18 Tests in the UK.

147 - The number of runs Shai Hope scored in his first innings, the highest Test score by a Windies batsman in the UK since Brian Lara scored 179 at The Oval in 1995.

322 - The number of runs the Windies scored in their second innings, the fourth-highest successful run chase in their history.

69 - The number of years since a team successfully chased down a target of more than 320 at Headingley. The 1948 Australians chased down 404 to win the fourth Ashes Test of that series, which was then a world record.
