Pakistan allrounder Javeria Khan 'stable and out of danger' after being stretchered off during Women's World T20 match
Pakistani hospitalised after head knock
A member of the Pakistan women's cricket has been ruled out of the World Twenty20 tournament after being felled by a bouncer during their Women's World T20 match against the West Indies.
Image Id: ~/media/D5471CFCC5554D7090FD877C00A2512BOpener Javeria Khan attempted a pull shot against Windies pace bowler Shamilia Connel in the opening over, but misjudged the delivery and was hit, with conflicting reports of the point of impact which was either on the jaw or neck just below the ear.
Her batting partner Sidra Ameen immediately called for medical assistance and after being treated out on the ground, Khan was carried off on a stretcher and taken to Chennai's Apollo hospital.

However, she was revealed to have a fractured thumb which is the injury that will prevent her from taking any further part in the tournament.
The bouncer that felled her had initially struck her on the right thumb before connecting with head.
"We have heard from the medical staff that she’s stable and out of danger," a team official told The Tribune in the wake of the match.The official added Javeria would stay under observation for another 24 hours and would not be able to travel to Delhi with her teammates.

"The dressing-room was in shock.
"We had been constantly checking on her health as the match progressed. Considering that, I'm proud of the way the girls fought until the end."
