19 – The number of batsmen from Australia who have scored 5000 runs in Tests. David Warner reached the milestone during the course of his 144 off 143 balls at the MCG today. The first ever Australian to amass 5000 was the great Don Bradman and the last before Warner was Michael Hussey. Warner took 109 innings to reach the mark.

1855 – The number of days taken by Warner to complete 5000 runs in Tests. He is the fastest Australian to reach the mark in terms of time, beating Michael Hussey’s previous record of 2145 days. Warner made his debut on December 1, 2011 against New Zealand in Brisbane and completed 5000 runs today. The overall quickest to 5000 runs in Tests is England’s Kevin Pietersen (1705 days).

3 – The number of Australia batsmen younger than Warner (30 years and 62 days) to score 5000 runs in Tests. The left-hand opening batsman is the fourth fastest to the milestone behind Allan Border (29 years and 340 days), Don Bradman (29 years and 330 days) and Ricky Ponting (28 years and 303 days).

17 – The number of hundreds scored by Warner in Tests. No batsman has scored as many centuries since his Test debut in 2011. The next most in the period is 16 by Steve Smith followed by Virat Kohli and Younis Khan (both 15).

8 – The number of times Warner has raced to a hundred in Tests within first 40 overs of the innings. He completed the century in the 39th over against Pakistan. The most he has scored in the first 40 overs is 138 runs against India in Perth in 2012.

113 – The number of balls taken by Warner to reach his hundred today, making it the third fastest 100 by an Australian batsman in Tests against Pakistan. The two fastest belong to Adam Gilchrist, who scored a century off 107 balls in the famous Hobart Test in 1999 and recorded a ton off 109 balls in Sydney in 2005.

1 – The number of hundreds scored by Warner at the MCG, the 144 against Pakistan is his first century in 10 innings at the iconic venue. His previous best at this ground was 62 against Sri Lanka in 2012.
