SL burn reviews, but claim brilliant catch
Sri Lanka have lost both of their third umpire reviews in the space of just two deliveries as they chased a breakthrough on the final day of the third Test.
Australia made a strong start chasing an unlikely 324 for victory, as David Warner and Shaun Marsh opened with a fifty partnership.
And in the 18th over, Warner survived not one but two big appeals from the Sri Lankan fielders.
First, Sri Lanka skipper Angelo Mathews called for a second look when Warner padded up to a delivery that the hosts incorrectly thought the ball might have clipped Warner's glove or bat on the way through to the waiting hands of a fielder.
Having lost one review, the Sri Lankans called on the third umpire again the very next delivery when Warner was hit in the pad, with replays showing the ball had pitched outside the line of leg stump.
But the breakthrough ultimately came just before lunch when Kusal Mendis took a sensational catch at short leg to remove Marsh for 23.
