The 'Cane train got on a roll after a horror first game, but their campaign was derailed in the second half of the season
Hobart Hurricanes: Story of their season
Hurricanes' BBL|05 by the numbers
After a horror start against the Sydney Sixers, the Hurricanes recovered with two very good wins over the Heat - including the classic match which saw Dan Christian put a ball on the roof of the Gabba - and a victory over the Thunder.
However, things turned pear-shaped for the Hurricanes in the second half of the tournament as they finished with four consecutive losses. George Bailey was the clear standout with the bat for the men in purple, but Sri Lanka superstar Kumar Sangakkara did not have the influence Hobart would have hoped for, averaging 13.12.
With the ball, Cameron Boyce and Shaun Tait were rightly rewarded for their form, earning places in Australia's Twenty20 squad to play India.
