Sydney welcome back Sixers stalwarts

Sixers make three changes to the 13-man squad that lost BBL|05 season opener

Sydney Sixers welcome back two stalwarts for their second clash of the KFC Big Bash League against Hobart Hurricanes at the SCG tomorrow.

Captain Moises Henriques returns to the 13-man squad after serving a one-match suspension for maintaining a slow over rate in last year's final, while Stephen O'Keefe has been included after sitting out the first-up loss to Sydney Thunder.

Henriques, who missed NSW Blues's most recent Sheffield Shield match with a strained hamstring, scored 245 runs at 35 and claimed five wickets with an exceptional economy rate of 6.37 for the Sixers last year in a campaign that fell agonisingly short in the Big Final against the Perth Scorchers in Canberra.

O'Keefe played six games in Magenta last summer, taking three wickets, and like Henriques, was a frugal operator conceding only 6.46 runs per over.

Both men were part of the Sixers team that won the inaugural BBL competition in 2012 and the undefeated outfit that took out the Champions League Twenty20 title in South Africa nine months later.

The Sixers have made a third change to the playing group that lost by 36 runs to the Thunder in Thursday's BBL|05 season opener at Spotless Stadium, with Sixers Academy and Supplementary batsman Nick Larkin earning a call-up.

Ed Cowan, Ryan Carters and Ben Dwarshuis are the three players to exit for the incoming trio.

Sydney face a power-packed Hobart Hurricanes squad featuring Kumar Sangakkara, Darren Sammy, George Bailey, Ben Dunk and captain Tim Paine.

In Sunday's second match, the Melbourne Stars have announced unchanged squad from their first match, while Usman Khawaja replaces Ahillen Beadle for the Thunder.

The fixture will see Hussey brothers Mike and Dave square-off at the MCG as Thunder and Stars captains, respectively.
