Queensland quick will return to her home state for the Women's Big Bash League
Sixers sign Sutherland for Big Bash
Former NSW Breakers left-arm quick Kara Sutherland will turn out for the Sydney Sixers in the inaugural Women's Big Bash League this season.
Sutherland, who teamed up with Konica Minolta Queensland Fire this year after enjoying a lengthy stint with Lend Lease NSW Breakers, joins fellow quicks Ellyse Perry and Emily Leys in what is shaping as a formidable bowling unit.
"I think we've got a really strong squad, we've got some good all-rounders, an excellent wicketkeeper in Alyssa Healy, we've got a quality coach, girls that all get along really well and looking forward to seeing our internationals as well," Sutherland said.
Quick single: Big Bash too exciting for Sthalekar to pass up
Sixers Head Coach Ben Sawyer said Sutherland's experience would add to the team make-up.
"Kara has had a number of seasons in WNCL and Women's T20 competitions for the NSW Breakers," Sawyer said.
"This WBBL, Kara will be a strike bowler for our team and we are very confident that she will be able to assert herself on this competition."
Healy, Perry and Lisa Sthalekar are among the big names in the Sixers line-up this season.
