Australia opener praises his mate for turning it all around after lean patch
Maxwell a 'special package', says Finch
Seven weeks ago, Glenn Maxwell labelled his actions "dumb" in a piece of self-flagellation on social media.
Maxwell had just charged down the wicket in a KFC T20 Big Bash League Big Bash League match then left a ball that disturbed his stumps.
That was the low of a form slump that started with a Test call-up in October.
It remains to be seen where the high of his current hot run is, but scores of 66, 122 and 95 over the past fortnight suggest Maxwell is one to watch during the World Cup.
Aaron Finch was elated to score a century on Saturday, when his side started their Cup campaign with a 111-run win over England at the MCG.

However the form of housemate and close friend Maxwell, who scored 66 runs from 40 balls with a mix of classical and unorthodox shots, was just as pleasing.
"I'm very happy for him," Finch said.
"He's playing some really good cricket and smart cricket, which can't always be said for his game at times.
"I think he would say that. There's times when he makes some poor choices.
"But over the last little while, he's made some great choices."

Glenn Maxwell signs autographs after the match
Finch suggested the key to Maxwell's turnaround has been being patient early in his innings.
"He's given himself a chance to get into an innings," he said.
"Even though he's only coming in with a handful of overs to go, the damage he can do is unbelievable.
"When you've got a guy who can field as well as he can and is handy with the ball, it's a pretty special package to have."
Finch, Maxwell and Mitch Marsh all impressed in their maiden World Cup match.

Finch, Marsh and Maxwell all had a big impact
Finch felt he was approaching career-best form, having made the most of a life he was handed on zero in the first over.
"I played pretty well after that initial chance. I felt like I got off to a really good start and kept the run-rate going," the Victorian said.
"To get a hundred in front of my family and friends at the home ground, and the home of cricket, was pretty special."
