Chanderpaul Jr follows in old man's footsteps
In the name of the father

He’s the son of a West Indian gun, and youngster Tagenarine Chanderpaul is continuing to make waves in the Caribbean.
As West Indies Cricket gathered to celebrate the achievements of its players over the past 12 months, a series of familiar names dominated proceedings.
Among them were Gayle, Bravo, Narine, and remarkably, the father-son combination of the Chanderpauls.
As Shivnarine Chanderpaul was commended for becoming just the sixth Test cricketer to play 150 Tests, his son, Tagenarine, was being recognised in a category that required much less experience – West Indies Under-19 Player of the Year.
Shivnarine, 39 years old but seemingly ageless, will equal the great Allan Border for Tests played (156) by the end of the West Indies’ current series with New Zealand.
The wristy left-handr now has 29 Test centuries, bettered among West Indians by only Brian Lara (34).
At the other end of the scale, Tagenarine, who celebrated his 18th birthday on the last day of May, has played nine first-class matches for Guyana, with a top score of 43.
Bearing an uncanny resemblance to his father at the crease, Chanderpaul Jr has impressed at national Under-19 level for West Indies and was one of a host of award recipients from West Indian cricket’s night of nights:
