Melbourne Stars have secured the services of promising leg-spinner James Muirhead for the upcoming KFC T20 Big Bash League season.

The Victorian made his T20 international debut against England earlier this year, taking 2-13 in just his third match, before playing a role in Australia's campaign at the ICC World T20 in Bangladesh.

"I had a couple of offers here and there to move insterstate, but I always wanted to stay at the Melbourne Stars," the 21-year-old told cricket.com.au.

"I just had to weigh up where I'm going to play the most games and bowl on the big stage and learn and develop my craft.

"I have faith in Shippy and being able to stay at home, I'm really grateful and really happy to be staying here."

The Stars have also confirmed the re-signings of Alex Keath, Marcus Stoinis and Scott Boland for the upcoming season, as well as the addition of Queensland quick Luke Feldman to round out their list for BBL|04.

“We are delighted to secure these guys who are all terrific emerging cricketers, and we genuinely see them having significant roles to play now and into the future.

“We’re wrapped with our entire list and believe we have great depth , tremendous flexibility and world class experience which holds us in good stead for what’s going to be another tough tournament,” said Chairman of Selectors, Damien Fleming.
