Hussey's Mumbai fall to Lahore
Scorecard: Mumbai Indians v Lahore Lions
Scorecard: Northern Districts v Southern Express
Michael Hussey's solid performance was not enough to save the Mumbai Indians from a chastening Champions League Twenty20 defeat to Pakistan's Lahore Lions in the second of Saturday's qualifying matches.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Umar Akmal was the hero for Lahore, blasting 38 from just 18 balls, including 4-6-4 in the 19th as Lahore chased down Mumbai's 7-135 with eight balls to spare .
After racking up 20 in the first three overs, opener Lendl Simmons holed out to mid-off off Aizaz Cheema, who then picked up Jalaj Saxena with his next delivery.

When Ambati Rayudu edged an attempted leg-side heave behind to Akmal in the next over, Mumbai had lost 3-3 in nine deliveries, with Hussey stranded at the non-striker's end.
As he has done so often in the past, Hussey set about rebuilding the innings, putting together a 44-run partnership with Aditya Tare.
Hussey (28 from 26 balls) became the fourth wicket to fall when he edged Wahab Riaz behind to Akmal.
Tare added 37 from 36 balls while late cameos from Harbhajan Singh (18 from 10 balls) and Praveen Kumar (20 from 14 balls) helped the Indians to 7-135.
Mumbai's spinners Singh and Pragyan Ojha kept the bowling tight, but the seamers leaked runs. The spinners had put the brakes on scoring in the middle overs, with a combined 3-44 from eight overs.
But the 7.4 overs bowled by captain Kieron Pollard, Lasith Malinga and Jasprit Bumrah yielded 78 runs.
Heavy rain early in the day in Raipur had forced the earlier Northern Districts win against Southern Express to be reduced to 10 overs a side, and the damp conditions continued to have an impact for Mumbai.

Kane Williamson blasted Northern Districts to victory in their first qualifying stage match against Sri Lanka's Southern Express, the New Zealanders winning by seven wickets in the rain-reduced game.
After restricting Southern to 92-5, the Kiwi domestic champions reached 96-3 with three balls to spare, courtesy of opener Williamson's 52 off 29 balls, an innings which included seven fours and one six.
Earlier another New Zealand Test player, seamer Trent Boult was the standout Northern bowler, taking 2-12 off his two overs.
The top two teams from the four-team round-robin qualifying phase advance to the Champions League pool stage beginning next week.
