Vincent handed three-year ban

Former New Zealand batsman Lou Vincent has been banned for three years from all forms of cricket in Bangladesh over his role in a Twenty20 match-fixing scandal.

Vincent was banned for failing to report approaches to fix matches, an investigations panel announced in Bangladesh on Wednesday (Bangladesh time).

Former Bangladesh captain Mohammad Ashraful received an eight year ban and ordered to pay a fine of one million taka ($AUD13,728) after admitting match-fixing, while Kaushal Lokuarachchi of Sri Lanka was banned for 18 months for failing to report an approach, as reported in the media.

Vincent, who is already under investigation by the International Cricket Council for spot-fixing, also faces 14 charges laid by the England and Wales Cricket board relating to alleged match-fixing when he played for Sussex in 2011.
